Tony was a lovely, kind fellow with a wonderful sense of humour. It was always a pleasure to be in his company - putting the world to rights, chuckling about funny phrases we'd heard or chatting away about lower-league football and county cricket. He will be sorely missed.

Sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Tony. He was a great character. Leaves behind happy memories of when we worked together at GEC Stoke, Coventry. A legend now resting in peace but taken too soon. My thoughts are with Anita.

Such incredibly sad news. I am sorry that I am unable to attend the funeral and pay my last respects in person. Tony looked after me so many times and gave me the freedom to travel around North Cornwall without judgement or criticism. As I got older, I was always grateful and privileged to see Tony and reminisce on those journeys of bygone days. He was always interested in what life had brought for me, my family and always joking with Cherry and the kids about the trips he took me on. His legend extends beyond Cornwall. I met someone in a Nottingham pub, who regaled me with a story of an outstanding taxi driver who took him from Blisland to Plymouth and back. Of course, it turned out that that fantastic man was Tony. Anita, my wholehearted sympathy goes out to you. St Breward will truly miss Tony's character and I will miss seeing him when I am next visiting. Sending love, Podge Marshall.

I am Tony's senior first cousin from Courtice, Ontario, Canada. My family and I were deeply shocked and saddened by Tony's sudden untimely passing. Our sincerest heartfelt condolences go out to Anita, Pat and family. We have fond memories of our last meeting with Anita & Tony in Warwick in the summer of 2013, following the sudden passing of my wfe, Dianne. I was truly looking forward to visiting St. Breward & Bodmin within 3 years time and having Tony & Anita show off so much more of the beautiful Cornish countryside (of which i have seen very little) and soak-in many more memories. Life is short and sometimes too short to fullfil one's wishes.
My daughters, Amanda & Jessica, together with my son-in-law, Daniel, join with me in sending loving wishes and electronic hugs to Anita, Pat, and the family. May God's blessings rest with you all on August 5th in celebrating Tony's life. May he rest in eternal peace. David.
