I'm so sorry that I'm unable to attend today, but I will be thinking of Peter and all of you, as I have been since he passed away.
Peter was an amazing influence on me and many young people associated with Cornish cricket. He genuinely wanted to see young people do well. He was a fantastic coach, making complex things seem straightforward, pushing those who needed it, and always being there with support when things were not going so well. His appointment as Cornwall's Development Officer was thoroughly deserved.
On a personal note, I appreciated how he looked after my grandad, Tiger, over the years, including taking him to Lord's, which I know was a real highlight. I also loved seeing Peter back at Truro CC, standing at the bar with a pint and a welcoming smile. It was always great to catch up, hear how proud he was of what you were all up to, and hopefully let him know how appreciated he was.
He will be greatly missed. Sending love to you all. I hope today goes as well as it can.x
