Jack was first diagnosed with prostate cancer 3 years ago
when it was already at an advanced stage. Following an operation to remove part
of the prostate he commenced on a course of hormone treatment, a mixture of
tablets and injections. This treatment held the cancer a bay for some time
but, following further blood tests in October 2017 it appeared he was
becoming resistant to the treatment. He was started on new and very expensive
medication but this had little effect. Further bone scans revealed that the
cancer had spread into his spine and pelvis. In January the specialists told us
there was nothing further that could be done and all treatment was
stopped. Jack died 7 weeks later.
Please donate to help fund research into this disease and to
spread the word that all men showing any of the symptoms should go and get
tested. Early diagnosis is so important to survival.
