We are a lean, accountable, grassroots charity that tackles childhood inequality and improves life outcomes by gifting new and beautiful pre-loved books to families with very few of their own. We donate age relevant, contemporary books to children via targeted schools, food banks, women's groups and refuges, and give them the resources too to put on celebratory and inclusive book gifting events. Children are encouraged to choose the books that they are excited to read and take home and to share with their families.
Our books come from book buying families that have grown out of them and wish to pass them onto a new reader, and from publishers keen to avoid waste. We gifted our one millionth book in June 2023 and will gift a further 350k books to targeted communities by the end of this school year. We make no charge whatsoever for any of our services.
