Mum was one of the more fortunate Alzheimer's sufferers in so much as the progress of the disease was very slow and most symptoms did not develop before age got the better of her. Alzheimer’s is a cruel, heart breaking disease. It takes away memory, reason, dexterity, personality, dignity; it strips everything to leave a shell. Alzheimer’s Research UK is dedicated to research, without which we’ll never be able to prevent or effectively treat dementia. Whilst we’re waiting for a cure, Tibbs Dementia Foundation provides much needed activities and support for dementia sufferers/their carers in Bedfordshire. Unfortunately we were unaware of the excellent range of services they offer, which is why we would like to see them achieve a higher profile and reach the attention of more patients. Tibbs Dementia Foundation and Alzheimer’s Research UK are two good causes that need support. In Mum’s memory, thank you for your donation to either one. Annie & Hattie
