The key to success is ensuring that your fund page is shared amongst as many family, friends and colleagues as possible.

  • Add the page address to your obituary or death notice in the newspaper.
  • Print the fund page address on your order of service
  • Paste the page address to your email footer
  • Always personalize the fund page with a photograph
  • Use clubs and societies to communicate the page address to their members.
  • Post the page address on facebook.
  • Tweet it to your followers on Twitter.

what should I include in my fund page?

Remember that your fund page is going to be read by many people who may not know your association with the person that has died.
Remember that some language may not be suitable nor certain memories shared.

what if I don’t want to write a message?

You may still give a donation and not leave a message, you may give the donation anonymously.

FAQs

What Cards can I use?

All credit and debit cards are accepted on line except American Express.

I can’t find the fund page?

Search using the name of the deceased person, the charity or the funeral director host. It will search against common spelling variations. Closed fund pages can be viewed but no further donations can be added.

How can I inform my friends and family of a fund page?

Copy the page URL onto an email.

How long will the fund page be available?

It will be live for 6 weeks from the time of creation and will automatically close. After closing, you will still have access to the fund page, but you will no longer be able to make a donation.

How can I give cash and cheques?

Cash and cheque donations can be forwarded directly to the host funeral director shown on the fund page. Gift Aid is not recovered by the website for such donations.

Will I get a receipt for my gift?

You will be sent an email confirming your donation and your fund message.

Gift Aid – does my donation qualify?

Only donations made by a UK tax payer may qualify. Please see the our promise Section

Can I give from outside the UK

Yes – using a credit or debit card however unless you pay tax in the UK, Gift Aid will not be recoverable on the donation.

To make a donation, click on the donate button.
A panel will appear that you will need to complete in order to make a donation.
first name, last name, email & donation are compulsory. You will not be able to make a donation without completing these fields.

Once you have entered your donation amount, the Gift Aid amount will be calculated. Gift Aid increases the value of donations to charities by allowing them to reclaim basic rate tax on your gift. The Gift Aid scheme is for gifts of money by individuals who pay UK tax. To allow a charity to claim Gift Aid on your donation, click the Gift Aid checkbox. Then confirm you are a UK tax payer by checking the uk tax payer checkbox. You will then be asked to enter your address. This will be used by HMRC to process your Gift Aid.

When making a donation, you may wish to remain anonymous. Making an anonymous donation still requires you to supply your details, however these details will not be displayed on the website.
If you choose to make an anonymous donation, you will not be able to leave a message.

Finally read the terms and conditions, if you agree to the terms and conditions, click on the 'I have read and agree to the terms and conditions' checkbox. You will not be able to make a donation, without agreeing to the terms and conditions. By clicking donate, you will be redirected to the payment page where you should follow the on screen instructions to complete the payment. When you complete the payment process, you can return to the site by following the link provided on the thank you page. Your donation will only appear on the site once the payment system has confirmed your details.

funeral director registration – where to start

If you are a funeral director, you can register with memorygiving.com by providing some basic information about your company.
All the fields on this page are compulsory. Some of these details will be displayed on the top of all the fund pages you create. An email will acknowledge your successful registration and include instructions about creating fund pages.

Any uploaded logo will be cropped to 350x135 pixels. Once you have uploaded your logo, you will be able to move & resize it. All you have to do to upload your logo is ensure the logo file size is smaller than 2MB. To upload your logo, click browse, find the file on your computer, then click upload. You should now see your logo within the white frame. You can zoom in & out depending on the size of your logo using the zoom buttons. Click ok to save your logo settings.

Funeral Director Registration – access to your log in

Finally read the terms and conditions, if you agree to the terms and conditions, click on the 'I have read and agree to the terms and conditions' checkbox. You will not be able to register without agreeing to the terms and conditions. When you click the register button, your details will be saved & the Memory Giving team will be notified of your application. Once the Memory Giving team have approved your application, you will receive an email with your login details & instructions to login to your admin section.

If you are a charity, you can register with Memory Giving. This is a two stage registration process:

Stage 1: provide some basic information about your charity. All the fields on this page are compulsory. Some of these details will be displayed on the fund pages. Any uploaded logo will be cropped to 180x100 pixels. Once you have uploaded your logo, you will be able to move & resize it. All you have to do to upload your logo is ensure the logo file size is smaller than 2MB. To upload your logo, click browse, find the file on your computer, then click upload. You should now see your logo within the white frame. You can zoom in & out depending on the size of your logo using the zoom buttons. Click ok to save your logo settings. Finally read the terms and conditions, if you agree to the terms and conditions, click on the
'I have read and agree to the terms and conditions' checkbox. You will not be able to register without agreeing to the terms and conditions. When you click the register button, your details will be saved & the Memory Giving team will be notified of your application.

Stage 2: Once the Memory Giving team have approved your application, you will receive an email with your login details & instructions to login to your admin section. Included in this email will be an attached pre-populated HMRC form CHV1 your completion of which will allow us to become your agent in respect of Gift Aid recovery.

Once you have submitted your search criteria, you will be directed to the search results page. Here you will be shown the results of your search. If many fund pages are found, the results may be separated into pages. You can browse from page to page until you find the fund page you are looking for. Click on the photo or name to go to the fund page.

Failed logins could be caused by:

  • incorrect login details - you can request your password by entering your email address and clicking remind. An email will be sent to you with your password.
  • user deactivated - your account may have been deactivated. If this has been done in error, please contact the Memory Giving team on 0118 979 9633
