In the UK more than 2500 people are diagnosed with Mesothelioma each year and this number is increasing. This asbestos cancer kills one person every five hours in the UK. For everyone concerned Mesothelioma is perhaps the most challenging of all cancers. Unlike other more common cancers GP's and community nurses will rarely care for a patient with Mesothelioma, and outside of specialist centres, hospital doctors and nurses have limited experience of the disease. This is why Mesothelioma UK exists. All our services are free! The centre coordinates support, communication and information about everything relevant to mesothelioma throughout the UK. We support any initiative that seeks to improve the life and experience of mesothelioma patients and their carers. Mesothelioma UK plays a pivotal role in helping all Mesothelioma interested groups to collaborate together. In this way, Mesothelioma UK is making a difference to the lives of people affected by this disease.
